7.TITLE OF THE PROPOSED SESSION
Title: The Value of Information to IWRM
8.OBJECTIVE
The importance of data and information (climate and water) to sustainable water resources management and food production will be demonstrated.
9.TITLE OR NAME OF LOCAL ACTION(S) TO BE PRESENTED DURING YOUR SESSION (At least one these acions should aleready be in the database of local actions on the 4th forum website, and should be the same name as on that website).
Water Resources Assessment methodologies and Seasonal Climate Outlook capabilities applied both globally and regional will be presented to show the benefits of these activities in an integrated water resources management framework.
10.EXTECTED OUTPUTS OF SESSION.
Exchange of knowledge and experiences among different regions and promotion of new techniques that will assist in sustainable management of water resources and improved food production.
11.USE OF LOCAL ACTIONS TO ACHIEVE THESE OUTPUTSCOMES OF YOUR SESSION
Case studies of applications at the local level will be presented.

There have been a number of workshops and symposia held in the Pacific region over the past two years. A WMO experts meeting on the value of hydrological information was held in September 2005.
